How CompaniesHouseLeads.com collects, uses and stores personal data, your UK GDPR rights, and your responsibilities as a data controller.
Last updated: 27 August 2026
1. Who we are
CompaniesHouseLeads.com (“we”, “us”) provides a UK business lead generation service built on the Companies House public register and publicly available web sources.
For your account data we are the data controller. For the lead data you research, collect and export through the service, you are the data controller and we act as your processor.
2. Personal data we collect
- Account data: name, company name, email address and authentication identifiers.
- Usage data: searches run, AI credits spent, leads imported, and basic service logs.
- Billing data: subscription plan, status and renewal dates. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
- Lead data: business contact information you obtain through the service, such as company names, registered addresses, business email addresses, phone numbers and named officers.
3. Why we use it
- To provide the service, run searches and store your leads.
- To operate accounts, authentication and subscription billing.
- To meter AI credit usage and prevent abuse.
- To improve reliability and diagnose faults.
- To send service messages about your account. We do not sell your data.
4. Lawful basis
We rely on contract for providing the service and billing you, legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention and service improvement, and legal obligation for accounting records.
Business contact details in the register are published under the Open Government Licence. Where public web sources are used, our legitimate interest is limited to identifying business-to-business contact points.
5. Sharing and processors
We share data only with the providers needed to run the service: our cloud hosting and database provider, our payment provider, our AI model provider and our web research provider. Each processes data on our instructions under a data processing agreement.
We may disclose data where required by law.
6. International transfers
Some providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
Account and lead data are kept while your account is active. If you close your account we delete or anonymise your data within 90 days, except records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (normally six years).
Research results are cached for a short period to avoid repeat lookups and are then discarded.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email privacy@companieshouseleads.com and we will respond within one month.
You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
9. Your obligations when contacting leads
You are responsible for your own outreach. You need a lawful basis — usually legitimate interests for business-to-business email — and you must identify yourself, honour opt-out requests promptly, and respect the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. CompaniesHouseLeads.com does not send email on your behalf.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted per account by row-level security, and administrative access is limited to staff who need it.
11. Changes and contact
We will update this page when our processing changes and note the date below. Questions: privacy@companieshouseleads.com.
